Abstract

I will talk about some work I have done recently on computational foundations for biology, and particularly for biological evolution. I started this work 40 years ago, but just got the tools to finish it, based on recent methods I have developed for fundamental physics. There are quite a few surprises (at least to me) about the way biological evolution seems to work, and the computational phenomena that are involved. (There are also direct relations to machine learning, etc.) See why-does-biological-evolution-work-a-minimal-model-for-biological-evolution-and-other-adaptive-processes/.
