A blueprint for radically open, citizen science

Abstract

DeSci (Decentralized Science) stands for a new movement to create an open public infrastructure for funding, creating, reviewing, crediting, storing, and disseminating scientific knowledge. I will share several episodes from my own experience involving different degree of DeSci. These include

• becoming the planetary standard of personal genomics;
• Tabula Rana, the frog cell atlas jamboree (PMID 32584459);
• ALEC, the Animal Life Expectancy in Controls;
• Smart Tanks, the intervention testing platform in Daphnia.
