Abstract

The pheromone response of budding yeast provides a good model system for studying many aspects of cell biology including signal transduction, transcriptional regulation, polarity establishment and gradient sensing. I will describe our recent work that combines mathematical modeling with experiments performed in microfluidic chambers in an effort to achieve a systems-level understanding of these cellular processes.
