I will sketch conceptual and computational challenges that arise from multiscale data recorded by our experimental collaborators. These data typically encompass biological and physical components, and it is often not obvious how to reduce their dimensionality in a generalizable manner and how to translate them into predictive dynamical models. As guiding examples, we will discuss spatiotemporal video microscopy and transcriptome measurements for bacterial swarms, and neuromechanical observations of C elegans.
