Abstract

Understanding of iron metabolism and trafficking in eukaryotes has increased substantially in recent years, in part through the discovery of new genes important in cellular and systemic iron homeostasis. A complex cellular iron network has emerged, with multiple feedback loops. This talk will describe parts of this network as well as a mathematical model intended to help shed light on key regulatory nodes and iron metabolism dynamics.
